Greetings from Gaunzhou!

Friends & Family,
Today we had a very busy day with a 2.5 hour plane ride from Jinan to Guanzhou. Ty didn't really like being in a seatbelt on the plane ... not a good sign for things to come! We are now staying at the Marriott Hotel, probably one of the nicest hotels I have *ever* stayed at! We are very happy to be here for the next week. Ty is doing well. It's hard when we go out to eat, since he can't eat anything solid ... we feel badly eating in front of him! We try to always bring yogurt or soup broth though, so he's not just drinking milk from a bottle. We continue to be thankful to our Lord for giving us this beautiful little boy. Frank and I catch each others eye during the day and we will just shake our heads at one another, like we can't believe he's really ours! He continues to want daddy to hold him when we walk anywhere but he lets me feed him and we always goof around and play when I change his diaper.
Last night his daddy got in the bathtub with him; he was not thrilled about a bath to say the least. That's when he wanted "Mama" to save him. Please continue to pray that he will bond more with me. I'm seeing progress each day, but my expectations were that it would happen right away. Tomorrow we have a paperwork appointment, a trip to the grocery store and then we're going to the park. We are enjoying our new guide, Amy who is wonderful and she's taking such good care of us.

Thanks so much for reading our blog. The comments are WONDERFUL! We miss home so much, so please feel free to comment. Thanks for your faithful prayers, we are so blessed!

You have the internet again! Yippeee! Loved the post today. Sounds like the little Ty Man does not like being confined to a seatbelt, huh? LOL. Ewwwww boy. Lots for that sweet little peanut to learn! I know God has chosen Ty for your family and I will continue to pray for the bonding. From other blogs I have read on adoption, it will happen in time ... and the good news is .. you've got plenty of that! Love you!

Jia absolutely HATED me when we were in China. I was SHOCKED!! She would not let me hold her unless I had Diet Coke or Skittles in my hand, and I had to share! Today, she is my shadow, doesn't even want to be away from me for 5 minutes. I will pray for Ty's heart to bond to yours, but I already know that it will! Enjoy watching him with his daddy and know that one day soon, you'll be calling Frank asking him for a break!!!

For a God-sized reason that we don't know, I'm sure Ty needed to first share his heart with Daddy. He is probably going through "people with smiling-and-animated-faces" overload right now. His big Mommy time is coming and man will it come in a big way. I'll pray for peace in the waiting, Pam. How exciting this all is for all of us back home.

Hi Sanza 4!!!!

The 4 girls have watched the video of Ty and Frank probably 15 times. They think it is hysterical! We continue to pray for you all and will now lift you in prayer as well. I have no fear that the bonding with you Pam will take place. I do find it interesting that after being cared for by only women that he is so attracted to Frank. In a way, I think that in itself is a rare gift. Do not let it hurt your heart, he is YOURS! And he will be attached to you like velcro in no time. The seat belt thing you will have to work on. Maybe over time that will ease too. The good thing is that time at this point is your friend. What matters most is that he now is yours physically and can continue to meld into his new family! I sent you a message Pam about the Art Camp. Email me back about that. Otherwise we will continue to follow your journey. Patience is supposed to be a virtue, although I have always found it hard to wait on! Ha Ha. Be patient with Ty, he knows that you are his angel! Happy Mother's Day!
Love, The Nguyens
