Marty (my Chinese-speaking bro in law) said that yes, what he's saying is a dialect form of penguin. And he's also saying "and then/and also" as he's turning the pages of the book. :)

A penguin will forever be known as a chick-wa in our house now!! Too cute.... Karla loves seeing pictures of Hannah, she still thinks of her as her "best friend"!
