Recently, Hannah competed in the PSIA Competition (Private Schools Interscholastic Association). This is where a number of students from schools all around get together and compete in various subjects. Hannah chose Prose, which is basically interpretive reading. She had a 3 minute excerpt from the book Ramona The Pest. It was an all day event in Denton, TX. We traveled there in the morning and she competed around 10am. I was in the room along with the five other contestants. I was so amazed at the great job she did. She has come so far. It was great because her friend Megan was there too and was in the competition. Needless to say the girls both placed and were able to go to the finals which was later that day at 3pm. They were so excited! I then got to see hannah do her piece again in front of the judges. Then, finally, at 5pm or so....the results were posted...Hannah found out that she got First Place and is now going to the state competition in Fort Worth on May 15th!! Needless to say, we were SO excited for her! Megan placed fifth and we were proud of her also, as this was her first time doing anything like this. Both girls got ribbons. What a great day!
